Love is a wonderful thing. Relationship is even more so. Are they the same? May be not. Is the one you love the most always the one you have a relationship with? Chances are: probably not. How often do you ask yourself what should I do with your relationship? Where is it going? Then sometimes, you may end up with questions with answers that create even more questions.
Have you realized that some times you are looking for the wrong answers? For example: "Where is this relationship going?" Well, does it matter? Yes, you may think, it's your future! Let me tell you this: You are in the present. These days, how far ahead can you see? Who can say, for sure, what you would end up doing in the next year? When you asked yourself that question, you are probably thinking a few years ahead, based on the current circumstances. You never know. How many times have things turn out not as expected? Moreover, love can make people change. You should not expect it, but it happens.
The question you should be asking is how much do you love your partner. Once you are sure you love each other, everything else takes a back seat. Breaking up always hurts. Breaking up because of what you think may happen and not because of your change of heart, really hurts. You still love each other, but you break up because you are afraid that you may not have a future. Why? Why make yourself suffer?
Love affects relationship. It should never be the other way around.

'cuz sometimes love isn't enough. Sometimes your love is what's hurting the other person, because they can't reciprocate, or they can't love you the way you want to be loved. If you truly love them, don't you want the best for them? And if the best thing for them is for you to let them go, then maybe that's what you need to do.
It's almost easier when love is selfish, because then you don't have to 'protect' the other person, and make sacrifices for them. But love is suppose to be selfless, so sometimes you have to give up what you want the most, for the one you love the most.
Love can be a wonderful thing. But mostly it sucks right now. ;)
Good points, m_whiz.
However, be positive.
Have faith in love. =)
